LSBO BOEI
Voor de wedstrijd LSBO Boei ontwierpen we een compact en doordacht schoolgebouw op een uitdagend driehoekig perceel, waar een markante cederboom het hart van het ontwerp vormt. De architectuur speelt in op de context en randvoorwaarden en vertaalt zich in een speels ensemble van drie volumes — een toren, een huisje en een balk — die samen één herkenbaar geheel vormen. De toren fungeert als baken in het straatbeeld en verwelkomt bezoekers met een duidelijke, warme identiteit. Aan de speelzijde opent het gebouw zich volledig: een lichte houten structuur omarmt de natuur en creëert een veilige, huiselijke leeromgeving met veel daglicht en zicht op groen. Centraal in het ontwerp staat het welzijn van de kinderen. De school biedt een rustige, geborgen omgeving met aandacht voor privacy, differentiatie en nabijheid tot buitenruimte. Het dubbelhoge forum vormt het kloppend hart van de school en verbindt leren, ontmoeten en spelen op een natuurlijke manier. Duurzaamheid en flexibiliteit zijn integraal meegenomen: een compact volume, doordachte oriëntatie, circulaire materiaalkeuzes en aanpasbare structuren zorgen ervoor dat het gebouw kan meegroeien met toekomstige noden.
For the LSBO Boei competition, we designed a compact and carefully considered school building on a challenging triangular site, where a distinctive cedar tree forms the heart of the project. The architecture responds to the context and constraints, resulting in a playful ensemble of three volumes — a tower, a house, and a bar — that together form a coherent and recognizable whole. The tower acts as a landmark within the streetscape, welcoming visitors with a clear and warm identity. On the playground side, the building opens up بالكامل: a light wooden structure embraces nature and creates a safe, homely learning environment with abundant daylight and views of greenery. The well-being of the children is central to the design. The school provides a calm and sheltered environment, with attention to privacy, differentiation, and direct access to outdoor space. The double-height forum forms the beating heart of the school, naturally connecting learning, meeting, and play. Sustainability and flexibility are integral to the project: a compact volume, thoughtful orientation, circular material choices, and adaptable structures ensure the building can evolve with future needs.
