Op deze projectsite worden twee grote architecturale ingrepen gedaan, nl. de reconversie van een bestaande loods tot opvangtehuis ‘De Passant’ voor 10 jongeren aan de achterzijde van het perceel en het inplanten van een nieuwbouwvolume (de ‘Villa’ – met 4 studio’s, collectieve voorzieningen voor Kaizen en het Mobiele Team) aan de straatzijde van het perceel. Tussen en rond deze 2 kenmerkende entiteiten zullen 4 sferen van buitenruimtes worden opgespannen om een logisch, natuurlijk ogend en coherent geheel te vormen. Onze architecturale intenties voor de reconversie van de bestaande loods tot het opvangtehuis ‘De Passant’ kunnen we samenvatten in 5 kernconcepten : - Maximaal behoud en hergebruik van het bestaande; - Volumes 'in' en happen 'uit' de Loods; - Boxen op een leefplatform; - Leesbare functies en heldere organisatie van het plan; - Privacy-gradiënten.

Two major architectural interventions will be made on this site, namely the reconversion of an existing shed into a shelter 'De Passant' for 10 youths at the rear of the plot and the implantation of a new building volume (the 'Villa' - with 4 studios, collective facilities for Kaizen and the Mobile Team) on the street side of the plot. Between and around these 2 distinctive entities, 4 spheres of outdoor spaces will be stretched to form a logical, natural-looking and coherent whole. Our architectural intentions for the reconversion of the existing shed into the shelter "De Passant" can be summarized in 5 key concepts : - Maximum preservation and reuse of the existing; - Volumes 'in' and bites 'out' of the Shed; - Boxes on a living platform; - Legible functions and clear organization of the plan; - Privacy gradients.
